Sherri Taylor is a nationally board certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is licensed by the state of Arizona. She graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the New York College of Health Professions where she conducted her clinical studies, interning for three years. Sherri continued her postgraduate training, interning at a private clinic in New York State where she focused on women’s health and internal medicine.

Prior to earning her Master’s degree she received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis on Exercise Physiology and a Minor in Health from Plymouth State College in NH. Sherri also spent four years practicing as an Exercise Physiologist at South County Hospital in Rhode Island where she developed an interest in combining alternative medicine and biomedicine, working with patients that were primarily diagnosed with cardiac disease, diabetes, and pulmonary disease. Within the scope of Oriental Medicine, she has used her expertise in treating these internal medical conditions.

Sherri has been in practice for over 13 years treating a variety of conditions and developing individualized wellness programs for people through the use of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutritional consultations, nutritional supplementation and lifestyle recommendations, such as exercise and stress management techniques. An existential part of her practice is her specialization in prescribing customized herbal formulas based on the patient’s energetic imbalance and medical condition. Medical conditions include chronic migraines, allergies, skin conditions, tinnitus, high blood pressure, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, cystitis, GERD, IBS, diabetes, insomnia and others.

Sherri believes that the health of the human body, mind, and spirit requires a personal investment and commitment by both the practitioner and the patient to balance the body’s energetic as well as biomedical systems. Sherri is committed to being both a healer and a resource for patient understanding. She continually expands her professional knowledge and has attended advanced courses and seminars in Chinese Medicine that are specific to Internal Medicine, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, and Diabetes.  Sherri is active in the community, frequently sharing her expertise by providing small seminars to the public on various topics at the clinic and throughout the valley. She also writes for local publications and has been featured in Food & Living magazine of Arizona.
